JOB DESCRIPTION
Gotcha Focaccia is seeking an experienced bread baker who can take full ownership of our early morning production at our production kitchen in Brooklyn. This position is ideal for a self-motivated professional who thrives working independently, loves baking focaccia, and is excited to grow alongside our business. Reporting to our founder, you will be responsible for the complete focaccia production process from dough to prepping for delivery to our retail locations and partners, requiring someone who can problem-solve on the fly and maintain our high standards without supervision.
POSITION REQUIRMENTS

Excellent knowledge of professional baking and cooking skills with attention to detail

3+ years experience working at a professional bakery

Willingness to take and give direction

Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure

Ability to spend 100% of shift working while standing
-
Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds while climbing stairs

Availability to work weekends
-
NYC Food Protection Certificate (must be obtained within 30 days of hire if not already held)
PRIMARY DUTIES
Production & Preparation
-
Prepare focaccia dough and toppings
-
Shape and bake off focaccias
-
Prepare for pickup by delivery partner

Follow recipes as directed, always asking questions for clarification as needed
Organization & Safety
-
Organize, date, label, and rotate raw ingredients and prepared items
-
Maintain food safety practices to keep a sanitary kitchen
-
Clean dishes and work station to pre-shift condition
Communication & Problem-Solving

Work solo and problem-solve when necessary, communicating issues promptly

Communicate with founder regarding: Running behind schedule, items needed for ordering, issues with produce/food quality
